Explore Wairarapa and the Wine Trail. Tours can last up to six hours or longer depending on customer preference.

Take a scenic drive over the Rimutaka mountain ranges. Meander through the historic local towns. Sample some of New Zealand's best wines from vineyards around Martinborough, Gladstone and Masterton. Try everything from country cooking to top notch cuisine in the many cafe's and restaurants. And all this is within just one to two hour's drive from the capital.

FEATHERSTON

See the Fell Locomotive Museum. Inside is the only remaining Fell locomotive in the world. Manufactured in 1875.

GREYTOWN

Established in 1854 this quaint town was named after Governor George Grey. Take the opportunity to walk along the street and view it's large collection of Victorian architecture.

CARTERTON

Visit Paua World. See jewelery made from paua shell. The iridescent shell of our native abalone.

MASTERTON

Have a look at the Wool Shed. Experience Wairarapa sheep farming history. Watch sheep shearing in action. See how wool is spun into cozy garments.

We can take you to visit one of the worlds largest collections of original airworthy World War 1 planes. Guided tours are available on weekends. (November through to April)

MARTINBOROUGH

Visit some of the best vineyards in New Zealand. Many of these come with international reputations. Look for the villiages flagship wine, Pinot Noir.

Extend your wine experiences with local Riesling, Pinot Gris or Sauvignon Blanc specialities.

Extended Wairarapa Tours

This is a region of wide plains and rolling hill country. The landscape is rugged and unspoilt: the food and wine are of the highest quality. The towns that are dotted around are reminscent of how towns were in days gone by.

MOUNT BRUCE

Visit Pukoha Mount Bruce National Wildlife Centre, 24 kilometres north of Masterton.

Around 2 hours from Wellington. home to New Zealand's rare white kiwi, the only one in captivity. Be inspired by the aviaries which are inhabited by New Zealand endangered birds. see juvenile and adult tuatora, there's a stream full of longfin eels fed daily

Stop for cafe food and a great coffee.

Walks through the centre vary from 40 minutes to a 2 hour loop walk suited to your preference.

TUI BREWERY MANGATAINOKA

Tui offer a range of activities, golf at Pahiatua 18 hole golf course, then back to Tui HQ for tasting.

During the Tui tour one of the locals will show you around and explain how some of New Zealands best brews are made.
